Globe’s type K thermocouple wire, when heated, utilises the Seebeck effect to produce a variable mV difference between the two dissimilar conductors (Nickle/Chrome and Nickle/Aluminium). This mV difference can then be used by temperature control and recording equipment to accurately control and record the temperature of the work piece being heat treated.

Applications
To obtain the most accurate temperature reading the thermocouple wire should be directly attached to the workpiece being heat treated using one of Globe’s thermocouple attachment units such as the GHT 4100

Insulation temperature rating is 700°C (Note: Dependent upon environmental conditions, the short term temperature rating for the insulation is 750°C where there is no risk of abrasion of the insulation during the heat treatment process)
